About Us

The firm was established by Navie Green – Thompson in August 2006.

Navie has a BA LLB from the University of Natal, Durban.

Prior to becoming an attorney and while still studying Navie gained extensive and valuable labour law experience by regularly appearing at the CCMA as Human Resources Officer, and later as Industrial Relations & Training and Development Officer at the Specialty Stores (Pty) LTD Group, now known as the Mr Price Group, a major national retailer comprising at the time Mr Price, The Hub, Galaxy Jewellers, Milady’s and Sheet Street.

She left the Group on obtaining her LLB and joined the erstwhile Shepstone & Wylie Tomlinsons Inc. in 1999 where she completed her Articles of Clerkship and was admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2001. Navie continued to work at Shepstone & Wylie Tomlinsons Inc. first in the capacity of Professional Assistant and thereafter as an Associate focusing exclusively on labour and employment law matters.

After leaving Shepstone & Wylie Tomlinsons Inc. in 2004, she accepted an appointment with Siwendu & Partners, a corporate and commercial law firm and spent the next two years establishing and heading up the Employment and Labour Law department which serviced clients in Pietermaritzburg, Durban, Johannesburg and Cape Town and thereafter commenced practice for her own account in August 2006.

She is a member of SASLAW and contracts as a part time Panelist / Commissioner to the CCMA, MIBCO, AEQUITATE and TOKISO.

Navie has also previously served as Chairperson of the Institute of People Management (IPM), KwaZulu-Natal Midlands Branch for two years and has lectured on a part time basis for Damelin, the KZN Law Society / LEAD and the Business Studies Unit (BSU).
